Khodrocar - Speaking at the seminar, Mohammadreza Mahmoudi—Executive Vice President of Bam Khodro Service & Trading Co.—highlighted the company’s two decades of experience in after-sales services within the automotive industry. He noted that Bam Khodro, established in 2005 to serve Kerman Motor and Bam-based automakers, has become a key player in Iran’s service and support landscape.
Mahmoudi announced the opening of 20 new service centers in 2024, bringing the total to 135 active locations. According to Kerman Motor’s expansion plans, the goal is to grow this network to 175 by the end of 2025. He emphasized that standardizing service centers based on up-to-date criteria is a core priority and a major factor in improving customer satisfaction.
Mahmoudi also pointed to significant improvements in service efficiency, including shorter wait times for parts and repairs. “Last year, we achieved the lowest rate of long-term vehicle downtime across our service network,” he said.
First Specialized EV Service Center in Iran
A key milestone in 2024 was the launch of Iran’s first specialized electric vehicle service center by Kerman Motor. This facility also introduced the country’s first professional EV battery repair workshop. Currently, 135 KMC T8 vehicles have been deployed nationwide as mobile service units, supporting customers wherever they are.
Bam Khodro is also collaborating with a fleet of over 1,500 vehicle carriers to streamline post-sales logistics and ensure customer peace of mind. To support the growing product lineup, the company is constructing a new 4,000-square-meter warehouse dedicated to spare parts—ensuring the supply chain remains strong and responsive.
Expanding EV Infrastructure with Strategic Investment
Javad Moghaddami, Bam Khodro’s Head of After-Sales Services, shared further details during the seminar. He emphasized the need to build not just the technology but also the culture around EV adoption in Iran. One of the company’s landmark achievements has been the opening of the first fully equipped EV repair center, including a dedicated battery workshop outfitted with over €100,000 worth of imported tools—alongside significant local investments.
He also announced that over 700 billion IRR (roughly $1.3 million) has been allocated for the development of EV charging stations across the country. This move is designed to address one of the key challenges facing EV owners: reliable access to charging infrastructure.
Training and Empowerment as Cornerstones
Recognizing the critical role of human capital in this transition, Moghaddami reported that over 2,000 training hours have been delivered on EV technologies, along with 1,200 hours specifically for emergency responders. A targeted program has also been implemented for EV taxi drivers, culminating in the issuance of certification cards to qualified participants.
Moghaddami concluded by stressing the importance of standardization and education as essential building blocks for the future of electric mobility in Iran.
